Sickness Midwest (2010)

You can a good look at a butcher's ass by sticking your head up there.
But wouldn't you rather take his word for it?

West Sickness
Midwest Sickness
East Sickness
South Sickness

Now we're talking.  Like a good ol' Midwest (family) gangbang, we have no idea who is coming out if this one clean.  We're talking about 3 seriously shaky top 4 seeds here.  Kansas is a beast and will be formidable regardless.  Maryland and Ohio State?  Can we be sure that either of these teams have been truly battle tested for this shindig coming from two shitty conferences?  Georgetown?  Which Hoyas team shows up?  The horror or the comedy?

This is seriously a giant collection of wild cards.  Tennessee, San Diego State, Houston, Oklahoma State, Michigan State, and we don't have to stop there.  Each and everyone of these teams has shown flashes of brilliance and moments of retardation over the season.  This region is going to seriously screw with some brackets this year, so be careful of that Kansas lock or your sneaky Georgetown to the Final Four call.

Sleeper Special: Mesoamericans over Unpaid Firefighters

Because why not?  Tennessee has been about as stable as their coach all season... In other words, not very.  Although with only 8 losses, they may be a little underrated at this point.  Regardless, the Aztecs are playing with house money and could catch a snoozing Tennessee squad that may or may not care about winning or losing.

Not-so-Sleeper Special: Gaggies over Sparty

New Mexico State has shown a lot of gusto this year, but they have just been so inconsistent.  And Sparty on the other hand, well, who knows what to expect, but that's what makes them dangerous.  But they better play some defense, because the Aggies can score, and well, that hasn't always been a big feature of Big 10 basketball.  Is this the part where I say something about Tom Izzo?

Non-Top 4 Seed Most Likely to Wreak Havoc: Izzopenforbusiness

This isn't rocket science, folks.  Team went to the Final Four last year.  If they can beat the Aggies, then why can't they beat a soft Maryland team?  I just don't see why not.  Besides, Kansas and State would be quite a Sweet 16 matchup.

Early FSD Favorite to Rule the Midwest: Hayjawks (get it? They're hicks...)

Yeah, we know, you see a trend.  But we don't see anyone beating this team in this region unless G'Town decides to shoot the lights out in the Elite Eight... Which we also don't see happening.

More obviousness to come.
