Why Hockey is Better than your Favorite Sport

So, it's been a hit parade here on The Delay lately, but the answer is actually that 1.5 of these hits were dirty.  Number 3 was ruled a boarding penalty on the ice, and the perp Ruutu has actually been suspended for three games as a result.  Number 1 was also dirty, earning Mike Richards a game misconduct immediately after the hit, but no additional suspension had been garnered post facto.

Why is hockey better than your favorite sport?  Because hard hits aren't penalized just because they're hard hits.  There's no personal foul for lighting someone up as long as they're in the play.  There's no roughing the passer penalty for putting a star center on his butthole.  And we have the the grand institution known as "The Fight" to thank for that.  But we can talk more about that later.
