God Damn It, UCONN

Would you please stop fucking this whole thing up?

Seriously!

You're an 11-loss squad that will most likely be (at least) 12 losses deep come Selection Sunday, since you're definitely not winning the Big East tournament.  And because you have so many damn losses (in addition to 5 or 6 HUGE wins),  any team that has beaten you (Marquette, Louisville) does not have their tourney resume bolstered as a result.  In other words, you're fucking useless.

By and large, UCONN represents an, er, larger issue though.  The problem with the Big East.  If you are a 9+ loss team in the Big East, do you represent A) a 6-loss team in any other conference or B) are you just another scrub bubble team reaching for a bid like anyone else?  And with the recent stumble of Villanova and West Virginia, how sure can we be of the Big East's superiority?  I mean, of course it is better than the Big 10, but so is the Missouri Valley Conference, so that isn't saying much.

Either way, it will be interesting to see what kind of respect the committee pays to the Big East.  Each team still has at least 3 or 4 games left to play in the regular season, and considering UCONN's track record in particular, it will be interesting to see if a 12-13 loss team, with a few high-profile victories can actually gain entrance to the Dance.  One thing is for certain, whether the Huskies are a 12-seed in the tourney, or a 3-seed in the NIT, Jim Calhoun will NOT be happy about it.
