Which Underdog Will Choke Next?!?!

Because the suspense is just killing us all!

Last night, the Mississippi State Bulldogs blew a 7-point lead in just over 2 minutes, after refusing to score a bucket in the final three minutes of regulation against the top ranked Kittens of Calipari U.  Watching the Bulldogs offense, you could tell they really had no chance to win, even when they were leading.  Their offense was far too stagnant for a team this deep into the season, and their rebounding was atrocious.  In fact, the only rebounds they seemed to recover were a result of the heavy bricks they were laying down the stretch that would bounce so far off the rim that only point guards and those with front row seats actually had a chance of tracking them down (38.6% shooting, out-rebounded 49-29).

And this disaster came right on the heels of Texas A&M (and specifically, Bryan Davis: 2-9 shooting, 5 fouls and 6 turnovers) pissing away the perfect opportunity to take out the Selfish Ones on their home court the previous night.  Although to be fair, the Aggies did manage to make the Bulldogs look good (honestly), when they were unable to score in the last FOUR minutes of the game, and all that after holding onto a 4-point lead with just under 5 minutes to go.  Way to go, guys.

Jesus... Good thing UCONN spared us (pero, asi es el Big East), but you just know that down the stretch that there is a whole lot more of this to come.  So who you got?!?
  • The Buckeyes folding against the Boilermakers?
  • The Darks gagging at home against the Lights?
  • Or maybe the Tigers going 0-19 in the last 12 minutes of the game against the Horns?  .
Yeah, that feels like the one.  Bubble gum Missouri blowing their chances at March glory?  Sounds about right..

Here's to a frustrating few nights of college ball, folks!  Now where's my remote?  The Men's Free Skate should be starting anytime now, and Johnny Weir has been looking fabulous.
